A novel in progress
Leap Second
A minor-league nobody leaps one second ahead of the world and spends the best season of his life terrified of falling back.
About the book
Danny Marsh is a Double-A second baseman one bad week from being released when he goes down off a catcher's knee and gets up one second ahead of the world. Nobody sees it for what it is. From then on he lives every moment a beat before everyone else reaches it.
What follows is the best season of his life. But the second isn't fixed — it stretches, it eases back, and Danny has no way to explain any of it. Explaining it would only sound worse.
